Dog stinkhorn fungus

Definition

A putrid-smelling fungus with a dark tip, a.k.a. elegant stinkhorn, dog stinkhorn, or devil’s dipstick. Unlike most mushrooms, that distribute their spores by the wind, the stinkhorn uses insects that are attracted to its strong smell.
